A lab is a vital part of the biodiesel facility. There are 15 tests that must be done to meet the ASTM D 6751 standard for B100. Our chemist will assist in setting up your plant lab and will train your technician to perform the analyses.

ASTM Definitions

Biodiesel – a fuel comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats, designated B100.
Biodiesel blend – a blend of biodiesel fuel with petroleum-based diesel fuel designated Bxx, where xx is the volume percent of biodiesel.

Key Physical Properties of B100 Biodiesel

Contains less than 15 ppm sulfur
No aromatics
High Cetane (over 50)
High lubricity (over 6000 grams BOCLE)
Biodegradable
Non-toxic
High flash point (over 260 F)
Comparable BTU value (8% less than #2)
